Our Past

Troy Innovative Instruments, Inc. was started in 1992 in a 1500 square foot garage in
Troy Township, Ohio with one CNC turning center and three full-time employees. With a
lifetime of manufacturing experience, founder Tom Cseplo's intent was to manufacture medical instruments used in spinal surgery. Acromed Corporation of Cleveland, founded by renowned Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Arthur D. Steffee, was his first customer. The company continued its
focus on spine, (the fastest growing segment in orthopedics) adding implants to its manufacturing capabilities and by 1999, the company expanded to a 13,000 square foot facility. In 2004,
TII was established as a woman owned company when Carole Cseplo became the
majority shareholder.

Our Present

Today, TII is located in a new 23,000 square foot, ultra-modern facility with a staff of 42 full-time employees. Our management team consists of five officers: three are female, one a Veteran.

Having established a reputation for quality and innovation, today our customers range from the top in the orthopedic industry, down to the rising stars. Though acquired by Depuy-Johnson/Johnson, we continue to do business with our first customer Acromed.

We have purchased and will soon implement real-time software E2 Shoptec. We have had to expand the shipping/receiving and the finishing departments to accommodate the new and existing business.
